Does anyone know of a way to visit ATTU? It doesn't seem there are any tour operators out there that go there anymore.

Here is a link the http://WWW.NPS.GOV web site.

http://www.cr.nps.gov/nr/travel/aviation/att.htm

The bottom of the page says you need to have military clearance to visit. My guess is their is some secret stuff for listening to the Soviets/Russians etc etc

Thanks for the info! There used to be a tour company that went to ATTU to view the wild birds but they stopped going in 2000. According to their website it was too expensive to operate the tour due to regulations governing the facilities they were required to maintain.

Has anyone been to Attu? There was a good show on the History Channel where they took an Army vet, a historian and a host to the island to document the vet's story. I'd love to go!
