With Our Own Eyes
Eyewitnesses to the Final Days of Amelia Earhart.

Written by Mike Campbell with Thomas E. Devine.

Lucky Press.
2002
During the American invasion of Saipan in July 1944, Army Sergeant Thomas E. Devine experienced a series of increadible events, events that not only altered the course of his life, but provided the basis for what was, until now, the only book ever written by an eyewitness to the final disposition of Earhart's Electra 10E.
In EYEWITNESS: The Amelia Earhart Incident, published in 1987, Devine revealed the startling details of his accidental knowledge of the facts surrounding Earhart's presence and death on Saipan. Devine chronicled his quest to break through the wall of silence the U.S. government maintained for fifty long years and invited additional eyewitnesses to come forth.
Now, With Our Own Eyes presents the heretofore unknown and unpublished testimony of more than two dozen Americans, ex-GIs who were also on Saipan, and who stepped forward after reading Devine's book. Their firsthand accounts corroborate and expand upon Devine's personal experience and research.
This is a great read and I recomend it to anyone who is interested in the disappearance of Amelia Earhart.
