Hi all

I've been approached to identify a potter's mark, found on a ceramic piece from a Japanese destroyed, wrecked in Truk Lagoon. It's completely stumped me, but if anyone can help, please see attached image. Suggested id. was that it's from a Dutch flying unit?

Regards

I want to say the crown does indeed look Dutch, wondering what the N and S could be standing for.

The wings suggest something with flight. I did find this in a creative Google search:

This is from the Japanese destroyer Oite, on a ceramic wash bowl. It is on display at the Kimuiuo Aisek Memorial Museum, Chuuk, dedicated 13 September 2014.
