B-24J #42-73055

Post by Dallas_gurl »

My great uncle, William (Bill) Wright #o-725565, was the pilot of the B-24J #42-73055. His plane was shot down near Rangoon. He was subsequently imprisoned in Rangoon and was beaten to death. His remains were located in 1946 and were flown out of Rangoon, but that flight (C47 #43-48308) crashed and was only located in 2009. I've even been able to locate a group who hopes to bring his remains home. I have also been able to locate additional information and some photos of him. However, I am looking for 1. Operational history of the aircraft, 2.photos of his aircraft itself and 3. Additional photos of the crew. I would welcome any leads, so that I can add this to our research documents. Thanks so much.
