USAT 'Liberty'

Hi all

Just had a wonderful opportunity to dive on USAT 'Liberty' at Tulamben, Bali, Indonesia. Ship was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine in January 1941. The crew beached the ship to salvage cargo. 'Liberty' was apparently beached and lay exposed until 1963 when the eruption of Mt Agung slipped the wreck into deeper water. Has anyone seen photos of the wreck prior to it submerging beneath the waves?

Kind regards
Silvano

Somewhere on the 19/01/42

Here is her movements 1941-1942 and advice that she was lost. Also her description of paint and other important details such as last sailing ex Port Moresby/Thursday island
