Invasion beach sands

Dear Sirs,

My father participated in the invasion of Okinawa and other islands during WW II. I have pictures of the invasion of Okinawa and him standing by a Route 1 sign. He mentioined islands such as Funa Futi, Tulagi , Ulithi etc plus his ship getting damaged during a typhoon and beachung their ship for repairs where upon they encountered several Japanese.
As a way of paying tribute to his heroics and to keep the history of their sacrifices alive, I am trying to collect sand from various islands in the South Pacific. Ideally, I would like 3 oz of sand from any of the islands. Would there be any way to ascertain if anyone has sands from any islands in the island hopping campaign?
