wrecks near yankee doodle dandy

i friend in png has told me there are several wrecksites near yankee doodle dandy crashed.including a largly intact plane in a sangoo forrest.....has anyone checked this out.the area in question is between lake sentani and the hollandia airdrome.......does anyone know which aussie war graves unit discovered the crashsite,recovered remains on december 1,1947 from the b-24 yankee doodle dandy(with this info i can order an excert from the diary of this unit from the awm)
