Lt.Gregory F. Mally B/N 390th BS

Post by ap96regt »

Been pouring over AFHRA records for the 42nd BG and 390th BS looking for information on Lt.Mally, My question is there any links out there to " nicknmaes" for B-25's that correspond to A/C #'s? For example A/C 406D orA/C 298D-these are two planes he flew in often during 1944. I have a photo of Lt.Mally ( from the family archives) with two others beside the "NOLA" and found a picture of this plane on page 51 of the History of the Crusaders- Does anyone have any information on this plane?

Cool, I've asked about NOLA before, my father Lt. John J. Darragh flew that ship also as CP with a Lt. Merlin Shumway as P. I'm not sure but I believe NOLA crashed on take-off from Sansapor the crew made it out, but my father was injured which was noted in chapter 17 in history of the 42nd bomb group. He later was promoted and piloted his own ship SHASTA. Would love to compare notes
