Re: C-39 Crash at Alice Springs
Thanks. I found it on-line eventually. But I had trouble finding it on the NGS map that I was using when first doing the research and writing the post. Alice Springs is way in there. I still need information concerning this C-39 crash. It is part of a bigger, really worth-while project concerning Pa...

Re: B-17 Collision at Townsville, Australia
These two B-17s were piloted by Deacon Rawls and Frank Bostrom; that is all I have on it. There is no official USAAF Form # 14 Aircraft Accident Report for this one. Would like the information for this one too. Man, those 1942 wrecks are hard to chase down. Need some help with this one. Anthony J. M...

Re: Doolittle Raid Survey Ship Crash
C. Glines mentions this wreck in his book, and it has been mentioned in other works treating the Doolittle Raid but it is never cited. I can't find any official documents concerning this crash. Is it true? Need some help. Thanks. TonyM.

Jackson Airdrome
Friends, Who was Jackson Airdrome named after? An Australian? An American? Who was he? When was the earliest reference to the field as Jackson Airdrome? The earliest USAAF document I have referring to Jackson Airdrome is dated February 18, 1943 (if I remember correctly). From what I understand, Jack...

Massacre of U.S. Pilots
Many years ago I came across a story that several U.S. pilots were murdered while sleeping in their bunks on a Pacific Island U.S. Air Base by Japanese hold-overs who were hiding in the jungle near the base. Can someone give me the details about this incident? Where did it happen? Who were the pilot...
