The F4U-1 Bureau Number is 17448 Maj. McCowan Military ID is 9610 He was flying with VMF-312 when ha was KIA. Ralph Robinson VMF-211

I am looking for any information on Lt. Ralph Robinson (USMC). He would have been stationed with VMF-211 on Palmyra in February 1943. At this time he was flying F4F-4.

Both reports provide no information on the F4F that collided with the SNJ or the pilot of this aircraft. I have recently researched the VMF-211 Unit Recordss available through the Nation Archives, NARA-II College Park Maryland. The pilot of the F4F-4 was Lt Ralph Robinson flying F4F-4 Bureau Number...
