On 23 October 1944, an USAAF Stearman PT-17 crashed into a river in a remote part of Burma. Pilot was killed and passenger was missing. Hi Chris, I can't recall hearing about Harvards/Texans/Mosquitos operating with frontline units in the South (West) Pacific Area, though could be wrong. Tony, Jackson's Field and 7-Mile are one and the same. The field was named in honour of S/Ldr John Jackson (CO, 75 Squadron, RAAF) who was KIA on April 28, 1942.
