Lives in Popondetta, Doropata
village. He has lived in Popondetta all his life.
Wartime Recollections
His father, the chief of an area during the war became
frustrated during the heavy fighting in the area, and all the
foreign soldiers on their land and disrupting their lives. He
dressed in his best tribal gear, and took his war spears and went
to a road and hailed the nearest American Jeep, where he told
the officer that he wanted the soldiers to leave. The officer
told his sergeant to "get rid of him" and he was unceremoniously
shot dead. After the war, there were many
abandoned aircraft at the area airfields. And, he remembers how
his mother warned the cchildren not to stray too far away because
'there might be Japanese soldiers waiting to get them.'
War Wreck Discoveries
In the past decades, he has been responsible for discovering
many WWII wrecks in the area, including seveal signifigant aircraft
wrecks, including a rare early war A-24 wreck, and P-38 Japanese
Sandman. He works with others David
