Location Berrimah War Cemetery was located opposite the 119 Australian General Hospital (119 AGH) east of Darwin in Northern Territory in Australia. Wartime History During the war, the remains of thirty-two Japanese airmen that crashed in the Darwin area were buried at Berrimah War Cemetery. Known burials include: Crew of G4M1 Betty Tail T-361 Pilot PO1c Shigeoshi Matsuda (KIA) Co-Pilot PO1c Kazuo Sasaki (KIA) Observer FCPO Jiro Nishikawa (KIA) Observer PO1c Sadami Yamashita (KIA) Radio FCPO2c Matsu Ebisawa (KIA) Radio Terukazu Ooyama (KIA) Engineer FCPO1c Yoshio Ito (KIA) Engineer FCPO2c Susumu Oniki (KIA) Today During the 1950s the Japanese were exhumed and transferred to the Cowra War Cemetery.
