Japanese Aircraft Boneyard Area at Munda Airfield
American GIs can be seen relaxing near some of the wrecks, and laundry strung between aircraft in the background.

The bomb crater in the foreground is filled in with an A6M Zero wing section and a wing from a larger aircraft plus other wreckage.

The group of aircraft in the middle includes: (left to right) D3A1 Val 3470, A6M2 Zero (center section only) A6M3 Tail T2-17? (dark green), A6M Zero tail '11' and A6M2 Tail 35 , A6M3 Tail T2-157 and A6M3 Tail 57 are visible in the center of the photo, and to the far right, rear is Ki-48 Lily 534.
