Location
Gizo Seaplane base was located in Gizo Harbor off Gizo on Ghizo Island.

Wartime History
During 1941, the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) used Gizo Harbor as a seaplane operating area. There were no supporting facilites aside from several seaplane mooring bouys.

During March 1943 occupied by the Japanese. To a limited capacity, Gizo Harbor area was used as a seaplane operating and mooring area by the Japanese unitl the middle of 1943.

Today
Disused as a seaplane base since the Japanese withdrew in the middle of 1943.
