Located at Chabai Plantation at Chabai, about 10 miles east of Bonis.

Construction
The Japanese developed a single runway at this location in late 1943, but then abandoned after being bombed by Allies.

Tom Blackburn in VF-17 The Jolly Rogers recalls:
"The Japanese worked furiously on a new strip at Chabai south of the Buka Passage near Matchin Bay."
