Location Porac Airfield is located to the southwest of Porac to the east of the Porac River in Pampanga Province in central Luzon in the Philippines. Construction Single runway built prior to the war. A taxiway ran parallel to the runway, with dispersal area near the northern end of the strip. Wartime Usage Used by the Japanese during their occupation, and late in the war after liberation in early 1945 by American forces. American units based at Porac 58th FG, 69th FS (P-47) Mangaldan April 17 - July 8, 1945 to Okinawa 58th FG, 311th FS (P-47) Mangaldan April 17 - July 8, 1945 to Okinawa 58th FG, 310th FS (P-47) Mangaldan April 18 - July 9, 1945 to Okinawa 58th FG, HQ (P-47) Mangaldan April 18 - July 9, 1945 to Okinawa 375th TCG, HQ from San Jose May 20, 1945 201st FS (P-47) 1945 Tony Feredo adds: "The 41st Fighter Squadron of the 35th FG was in Porac for a short period before moving to Mangaldan Airfield and Lingayen. A number of their P-47s were transferred to the 201st Mexican Expeditionary AF which was based at Porac.
