41st Fighter Squadron sign at Mangaldan Airfield
The sign reads: "Flying Buzzsaws: 41st Fighter Sqdn. 37 months overseas overseas original smoko squn best damn shackers, sacked scrappers in the Air Force." Travis Smith adds: "I think this is the 41st Officer's Club that had a party for us three newcomers: Smith, Maley, Mayo in early 1945. I was at Mangaldan only a couple of weeks."
