USN 1945

Located near Gurguan Point, in the northern portion of Tinian Island. Known by the Japanese as Gurguan Point Airfield.

Built by the Japanese with two pararell runways.  Repaired by American forces, it was known by the Americans as "West Field".

Wartime History
Used as a base for B-29 Superfortresses from at least three Bombardment Groups.

This airfield is still in use today, as Tinian's only operational airfield.
