Located at Ambon.

Construction
Built by the Dutch prior to the war.

Allied Use
In late 1941, the airfield based one Dutch bomber, two fighters and Hudsons of RAAF No.13 Squadron. Allied planes withdrew on January 16, 1942 in the fact of the impending Japanese attack. 19th BG B-17's landed on December 23, 1941 after raid on Japanese landings at Lingayen Gulf on a 4,600 mile mission that staged from Batchelor Field, Australia.

Japanese Use
After the area fell to the Japanese, it became a base for Japanese for the rest of the war. Used to stage land based bombers for raids against Australia.
