Charles Lindbergh's 'Kill'
It was near this strip that Charles Lindbergh, while flying as an 'observer' with the 475th FG, 433rd FS "Satan's Angles" and shot down a Ki-51 Sonia on July 28. 1944 of the 73rd Independent Chutai piloted by Capt. Shimada Kenji (C. O. of 73rd) during a head on pass.
