Location
Wŏnsan Airfield is located at the base of the Kalma Peninsula to the east of Wonsan (Wŏnsan). Also spelled Wŏnsan Airfield. Today loated in Kangwŏn Province, Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) North Korea.

Construction
Built by the Japanese for use by the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN).

Wartime History
During the Korean War, designated as K-25 as the alphanumeric identifier (K number) used by the U.S. Air Force (USAF) Far East Air Force (FEAF). Used by American forces as a forward operating airfield as of November 1950.

On November 27, 1950 after an armed reconnaissance from Mampo-sin to Linchang, VF-32 F4U Corsairs including F4U-4 Corsair 81023 piloted by Lt(jg) Thomas J. Hudner were unable to return to USS Leyte CV-32 due to bad weather and instead landed at Wonsan Airfield, before returning to the carrier.
