Pilot History
Flown by New Zealander Vance Drummond who joined the RAAF at 21. Drummond later served in Korean War and was shot down in a Meteor and served as a POW until September 1953. He later served in Vietnam and died in February 1967.

Aircraft History
Built by Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation (CAC). Assigned to 4FTS.

Mission History
During October 1950 took off from Point Cook Airfield piloted by Vance Drummond went missing on a low level navigation excerise, and rescued clinging to the cockpit.

Wreckage
Victorian resident and pilot Gordon Wilson discovered the aircraft after water levels in the western district lake dropped considerably. He hopes the wreck will go to the RAAF Museum at Point Cook.
