Built by Grumman. Assigned to the United States Navy (USN) to VT-8. Flown by Ensign Earnest. On the right side of the cockpit was painted "Ens Earnest" in black stencil and one Japanese flag indicating a victory claim.

Wartime History
Operated from Henderson Field on Guadalcanal during September 13 - October 27, 1942.

Wreckage
Abandoned at Henderson Field. The cockpit section was photographed with broken perspex.
