This wing was removed from a damaged aircraft after Japanese shelling of Henderson Field on Guadalcanal.
Recovery & Display
Undistubed near the airfield for 37 years, 100 yards off the
south end of the runway, it was recovered in August 1979, and transported
to the United States. Currently,
it is display at Yanks Museum.
