Aircraft History
Built by Consolidated, San Diego, and accepted on October 23 1943. Delivered to to Fleet Air Wing 14 at San Diego Naval Air Station on November 5, 1943. Flown cross country to NAS Norfolk, Virginia to Headquarters Squadron 5-2 (Hedron). On December 22 1943, Bu 48294 was formally assigned to FAW-15, and flew January 6, 1944, to French Morocco arriving on January 19 and assigned to VPB-92.
Today
Aquired in mid-2003 by Gerald Yagen. Flown to based in Virginia to the Fighter Factory where it is based and flys in airshows during summers.
