Aircraft History Built by Consolidated. Assigned to the U.S. Navy (USN) to VP-14. Tail number 14-P-8. No known nickname or nose art. Mission History On December 7, 1941 moored in Kaneohe Bay (Kāneʻohe Bay). During the first wave of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and Oahu attacked by Japanese carrier planes including Type 97 Carrier Attack Bomber Kanko / B5N1 Kates that bombed the airfield and facilities, approximately nine minutes before the attack on Pearl Harbor. This Catalina was damaged and sunk. Possibly, PBY-5 Catalina sunk into Kaneohe Bay is is one of two Catalinas from VP-14 damaged and sunk into Kaneohe Bay. Most likely this wreckage is either this aircraft, PBY 2365 or PBY 2369. As no definite serial number was found on the wreckage, it is unknown which it is..
