Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF), 348th Fighter Group (348th FG), 342nd Fighter Squadron (342nd FS) "Scourgers". No known nickname, nose art or markings.

Wartime History
On May 21, 1944 took off piloted by Lt. William E. Luton on a mission and crashed, killing the pilot.

Memorials
Postwar, Luton is buried at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, TN.
