Aircraft History Built by Curtiss in Buffalo, New York. Constructor number 19944. Assigned U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as P-40E-1 Warhawk serial number 41-36111. Assigned Royal Air Force (RAF) serial number ET757. Disassembled and shipped overseas as part of defense aid. Wartime History Delivered to the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) as P-40E Kittyhawk serial number NZ3024. On May 23, 1942 reassembled by Unit 13 at Harewood Airfield. Afterwards, to 2 OTU based at Ohakea Airfield. Assigned code "XO-F". No known nickname or nose art. On April 3, 1944 this P-40 took off from Ohakea Airfield piloted by Sergeant W. Hackshaw on formation training mission. During the flight, suffered a mid-air collision with P-40 NZ3010, pilot Hackshaw was unhurt and this P-40 landed successfully. On April 14, 1944 written off at Ohakea Airfield and reduced to spare parts. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
