Aircraft History
USAAF Serial Number 41-24860 (?). Delivered to the RAAF in March 1942 and assigned to 75 Squadron.

This aircraft crashed on a ferry flight to Townsville on July 3, 1943 killing the pilot P/O Lloyd Henry Holliday. On May 22, 1942 it was sent to 5 AD for repairs, amd then assigned to 2 OTU at Mildura on October 20, 1942.

On December 1, 1942 it was involved in another accident damaging the wing tip, landing gear and propellor. On January 14, 1943 it was involved in yet another landing accident when the starboard landing gear collapse. On March 19, 1943 it was involved in another landing accident.

Mission History
On the night of 4-5 this P-40 was piloted by Walker, flying night circuits and landings. After take off, a fire was observed four miles SW of Mildura Airfield. Pilot Sgt Walker was killed in the crash.

Wreckage
Some small aircraft remains can still be found at the crash site.
