Stalone was one of three L-5 pilots sent to rescue Nelson
Flack who crashed P-40N
42-104984.
Mission History
During a flight, Stalone
was experiencing a rough engine. Before taking off with a passenger,
he did a test flight, but on failed to climb on takeoff at Chimbu
(Kundiawa), crashing, buringing and killing him on April 14, 1944.
