Aircraft History Built by Nakajima. Uncoded serial number unknown. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as Type 2 Land Based Reconnaissance Aircraft Gekko / J1N1-C Irving manufacture number unknown. Wartime History This Irving force landed at Peleliu Airfield. Afterwards, the force landed Irving was photograhped by the Japanese from the front showing a pair of drop tanks nearby and from the side with tail number 21-65 visible. After the American landing on Peleliu, the photographs were captured and receieved by U.S. intelligence on October 4, 1944.
