Aircraft History
Built by Kawanishi Kokuki K. K. at Naruo. This flying boat was either model H6K4 or H6K5. Likely, assigned to the 851st Kokutai.

Wartime History
Abandoned or sunk off Korouvo on Shortland Island at the Shortland Harbor Seaplane Base.

Wreckage
Located across from the old Faisi rest house at Korouvo. The wing has collapsed downward onto the fuselage, preventing access to the cockpit or fuselage. The tail cone is embedded in coral in shallow water nearer to the shore. The engines are present, and one propeller has fallen off and rests on the sandy bottom.
