Mission History
Ditched at Nuguria Atoll, onto a sandbar relatively intact.

Visited by TAIU
Stopped in aerial reconnaissance, and straffed by American aircraft, this wreck was investigated by TAIU in July 1944, for technical evaluation.  A team was sent from Nissan Island aboard PT-124 "Who Me?".  While investigating the wreck, the team recovered documents from inside and photographed it.  No identification of crew losses were present.

Wreckage
Only a few pieces of scattered wreckage remain.

John Douglas adds:
"I made a visit to Nuguria several years ago and photographed the remains of a Betty near the shoreline. There were scraps of fuselage and wings buried, with obviously more under the sand. I also have a book Behind Enemy Lines by Micheal Freeman. During the war, he visited the Betty on Nuguria and took some photos of it as well."
