Background
The Ford Tri-motor was a rugged, dependable transport airplane, used by airlines around the world. The 5-AT (Air Transport) was an all metal, three engined civilan transport aircraft debuted in the summer of 1928. It was larger, had more powerful engines that the earlier 4-AT, and carried from 13 to 15 passengers.

Production ended in 1933, a total of 199 were built.
