Wreckage
Discovered by Mondo villagers in September 2002,
near Nugus Point on Ranongga Island.
Andrew Kats reports:
"I dived a newly discovered Corsair wreck. A elderly
village chief remembered a pilot parachuting into the village
and they successfully transported him to a PT camp. The plane was intact with
little engine damage and the canopy was missing. I couldn't find the serial
number behind the seat but some further investigating is in progress and a further
dive will be taking place in the forthcoming weeks."
