Wartime History
Built by Mitsubishi. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as Type 98 Reconnaissance Aircraft / C5M (Babs) manufacture number unknown.

Wartime History
Assigned to the 11th Air Fleet, 22nd Koku Sentai, Special Detachment. No known markings or tail code. This Babs was abandoned at Gasmata Airfield. During March 1944, captured by Allied forces when they occupied the area.

Wreckage
In the early 1970s, this aircraft had bomb blasts damage and many parts had been scrapped. Unknown if this wreckage remains today or if it has been scrapped or otherwise removed.

"I photographed this wreck in the middle of 1972"
