Aircraft History
Built by Douglas Aircraft Company. Contract AC535-AC-40652-2032. Constructors Number 33096. On April 20, 1945 delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as C-47B-30-DK Skytrain serial number 44-76764. Ferried overseas via Hickam Field then across the Pacific to Australia.

Wartime History
On May 2, 1945 delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as C-47B Dakota serial number A65-94. Call Sign VH-RFL. Assigned to 3 Air Depot (3 AD). On May 9, 1945 assigned radio call sign VH-RFL.

Post War
During August 1951 with SAN at East Sale Airfield. During 1970 with Aircraft Research Development Unit (ARDU) at Laverton Field and registered as VM-HJV. In 1982 with ARDU Edinburgh.

Today
On June 1, 2000 placed on auction and purchased by Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS). On July 21, 2000 registered on the Australian Civil Aircraft Register as VH-EAE. This Dakota retains the RAAF markings and "Historical Aircraft Restoration Society Inc." above the fuselage windows and a black strip below the windows. The tail was painted green with the ARDU logo, then overpainted with HARS logo.
