Delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as Beaufort Mark VIII serial number A9-636. Wartime History Assigned to No. 8 Communication Unit (8 CU). No known nickname or nose art. Mission History On March 9, 1945 took off from Goroka Airfield piloted by FLTLT Peter P. A. Hopton and crashed two miles away. On impact, passenger Muller was killed and navigator Adams was injured and died of his injuries on March 23, 1945. The rest of the crew survived the crash. During May 1945 officially converted to components and written off. Memorials Muller was officially declared dead the day of the mission. Adams died of his injuries on March 23, 1945.
