Retired to the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake in 1965 for use as a ballistic missile target. Recovery & Restoration The airframe was acquired by the National Museum of Naval Aviation in February 1994, but did not leave China Lake until it was recovered on April 15, 1998, and moved to the United States Air Museum, California, for restoration.
