This aircraft has not been identified to date. Most likely, it was a 13th Air Force bomber, operating from Koli Field of Carney Field on Guadalcanal. Also, it could be a PB4Y.
Wartime History
Ditched 1.5km north of Longava, Buena Vista in the Florida Island Group.
Wreckage
The wings, landing gear and fuselage center section are all that remains today.
A parachute, partially opened is inside the fuselage portion when discovered.
