Aircraft History Built by Consolidated-Convair. Constructors Number 1470. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as B-24J-90-CF Liberator serial number 44-44175. Wartime History Assigned to the Royal Air Force (RAF) as Liberator GR.VI serial number KH304 and served in India. On April 11, 1946 stricken from charge. Assigned to the Indian Air Force (IAF) as serial number HE877. This B-24 operated from India until December 31, 1968 when retired from service and placed into storage at Poona Air Base. Later, the Indian government donated this bomber to the United States and was delivered to the Pima Air & Space Museum arriving on March 28, 1969. Registered as N7866, canceled on July 21, 1977. Repainted in the markings of B-24 "Paisano / Shoot You're Covered" of the 446th BG. The other side still displays the markings of Indian Air Force, as a tribute to the donor.
