Aircraft History
(KNB = killed no body recovered) (KBR killed body recovered) power failed on engine # 2 and # 4 durring routine training flight mission. Home base Weeler Field, Oahu. Lost 20 miles SE of Kauai, Hawaii 100 degrees from Lihue, Kauai. As far as i know he was never recovered nor was the plane.

Search Efforts
Serches were conducted at sea for those that were lost July, 11, 1945 by Chaplin Harry O. Carr on the site where the plane was last observed. Also attending was the comanding officer, together with the boat crew. Four personel were rescued alive SSgt. Delbert F. Bangs died of Heart Failure (shock). His remains were recovered and intered in plot number 6 row c grave 49, Scholfield Barracks cemetery Hawaii on July,13 ,1945. The punchbowl in Hawaii has a plaque dedicated to Raymond Goins, John Miller and Pete Collins, those that were lost at sea.
