Aircraft History Built by Boeing at Seattle. Constructors Number 2405. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as B-17E Flying Fortress serial number 41-2594. On February 24, 1942 delivered to MacDill Field. On May 23, 1942 flown to Cheyenne, WY. On June 21, 1942 assigned to the 91st Bombardment Group (91st BG) at Walla Walla. Wartime History On January 11, 1943 assigned to the 19th Bombardment Group (19th BG) based at Pyote Airfield. This B-17 appears in the Hollywood movie Bombardier filmed in 1943. On February 25, 1943 assigned to the 1497 Air Force Group at Lockburn, Ohio. On November 13, 1945 at Walnut Ridge and afterwards scrapped.
