Crashed at the north end of Espiritu Santo in 1944 (?).The plane went down in the water about 1/4 to 1/2 mile from the northern shoreline. The ABMC lists Munger's date of death as March 26, 1945.

"Crashed in early 1944 at the north end of Espiritu Santo in the New Hebrides. The plane went down in the water about 1/4 to 1/2 mile from the northern shoreline. The crew or the plane were never recovered. Any information would be appreciated, I am in touch with his Son John Munger of Fort Collins, Colorado."
