Charles Davidson & "The Hell'n Pelican II"
Pilot of A-20G "The Hell'n Pelican II" 42-86786 Charles Davidson, is reunited with his aircraft after more than half a century. The photo was taken at Amberley in Australia.  The aircraft was salvaged by the RAAF in 1984 after Michael Claringbould found it in 1976, but it was not finally restored until 1997 (see Aerothentic Publications) The aircraft was forced-landed by Charles Davidson, seen here, on 16th April 1944 because of a large weather build up, and was recovered by the RAAF in 1984 for restoration. If you think Charles looks happy, you are correct.
