Aircraft History Built by Vought. On November 8, 1948 delivered to the U.S. Navy (USN) as F4U-5N Corsair bureau number 122189. This aircraft was mounted with radar for use as a night fighter. In 1953, stricken off charge. During 1965-1976, this Corsair was part of the National Naval Aviation Museum (NMNA) U.S. Navy Air Museum. Afterwards, placed into storage at NTS Bainbridge, Georgia. Restoration In the late 1970s, restored at MCAS Cherry Point and painted in the markings of F4U-5P Corsair assigned to VMF(N)-513 with tail code "WF" and fuselage code "15". Display Afterwards, displayed at U.S. Marine Corps Museum (USMC Museum) until 1998. Since 2000, displayed outdoors at the Flying Letherneck Museum.
