Aircraft History Built by Douglas Aircraft Company. Constructors Number unknown. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as C-47 Skytrain serial number unknown. Ferried overseas via Hickam Field then across the Pacific to Australia. Wartime History Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF). This C-47 was abandoned at Embi Airfield. Wreckage The wreckage remains at Embi Airfield in kunai grass at the side of the northwest edge of the northern runway. The engines and instruments are removed.
